FORT MYERS, FL – For residents of Lee County, the process of renewing their driver’s license is about to get a whole lot easier. The Lee County Tax Collector’s Office has announced a new online renewal system that will allow residents to renew their driver’s licenses from the comfort of their own homes.
Gone are the days of waiting in long lines at the DMV, only to be told that you need to provide additional documentation or pay additional fees. With this new online renewal system, Lee County residents can simply log onto the Tax Collector’s Office website, enter some basic information, and pay the required renewal fee. Within a few days, they will receive their new driver’s license in the mail.
“We are always looking for ways to make things more convenient for our residents,” said Lee County Tax Collector, Larry Hart. “With this new online renewal system, we are able to offer a faster and more efficient way for people to renew their driver’s licenses.”
In addition to the new online renewal system, the Lee County Tax Collector’s Office has also extended their hours for in-person renewals. Residents can now visit the office Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, as well as on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
“We understand that not everyone is comfortable renewing their driver’s license online,” said Hart. “That’s why we have extended our office hours to accommodate those who prefer to renew in person.”
The new online renewal system and extended office hours are just the latest initiatives from the Lee County Tax Collector’s Office to improve customer service. In recent years, the office has implemented a number of other improvements, including a mobile app that allows residents to access their driver’s license and vehicle registration information on the go.
“We are constantly looking for ways to make things more convenient for our residents,” said Hart. “Our goal is to provide the best possible customer service, and we believe that these new initiatives will help us achieve that goal.”
Residents of Lee County who are due to renew their driver’s licenses in the coming months are encouraged to take advantage of the new online renewal system. With just a few clicks of the mouse, they can avoid the hassle of waiting in line at the DMV and have their new driver’s license delivered right to their door.
