Kentucky’s Driver’s License System Gets a Makeover
Kentucky residents will soon be seeing changes to their driver’s licenses, as the state government has announced plans to revamp the current system. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet recently unveiled a new design for driver’s licenses that includes added security features and a more modern look.
The new licenses will feature a bold blue and white color scheme, with the state seal prominently displayed on the front. In addition, the IDs will now include a small portrait of the license holder, along with a unique barcode that can be scanned for added security measures.

One of the key security features of the new licenses is a holographic overlay that is nearly impossible to replicate. This hologram includes the Kentucky state flag and other intricate designs that will make it difficult for counterfeiters to create fake IDs.
In addition to the visual updates, the new driver’s licenses will also feature an improved barcode system that can be scanned by law enforcement officers and other officials. This barcode will contain information about the license holder, such as their name, date of birth, and address, making it easier for authorities to verify the authenticity of the ID.

For those who are not yet eligible for renewal, the Transportation Cabinet has stated that they will still be able to use their current licenses until they expire.
