Tennessee to Roll Out New Driver’s License Design

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has announced that a new design for the state’s driver’s licenses will be rolled out in the coming months. The updated design features enhanced security features to combat fraud and counterfeiting, as well as a sleek modern look.

The new driver’s licenses will feature a sophisticated design that includes a holographic overlay, UV printing, and micro-text that is visible only under magnification. These features are intended to make it more difficult for counterfeiters to replicate the licenses and to protect the identities of Tennessee residents.

In addition to the security features, the new design will also include updated graphics and a more user-friendly layout. The front of the license will feature the driver’s photo, name, date of birth, and address, while the back will include information about the license holder’s driving privileges and any restrictions.

“We are excited to unveil this new design for Tennessee’s driver’s licenses,” said Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner John Doe. “This updated design not only looks great but also provides an added layer of security to protect our residents from identity theft and fraud.”

The rollout of the new driver’s licenses will begin in July, and current license holders will receive the updated design when they renew their licenses. Those who need to replace a lost or stolen license before their renewal date can also request the new design for a small fee.

In addition to the new design, the Department of Safety and Homeland Security is also promoting the use of digital driver’s licenses, which are available through the department’s website. Digital driver’s licenses are a convenient and secure way for Tennessee residents to carry their driver’s license information on their smartphones, making it easy to access and share when needed.

“We encourage all Tennessee residents to consider using a digital driver’s license as a convenient and secure alternative to carrying a physical license,” said Commissioner Doe. “Not only does it make it easier to access your license information, but it also provides an extra layer of security in case your physical license is lost or stolen.”

Overall, the new driver’s license design and the promotion of digital driver’s licenses reflect the Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s commitment to protecting the identity and information of Tennessee residents. By incorporating advanced security features and modern design elements, the department aims to stay ahead of fraudsters and counterfeiters while providing a more user-friendly experience for license holders.

As Tennessee prepares to roll out the new driver’s license design, residents can look forward to a more secure and sleek form of identification that reflects the state’s commitment to innovation and protection. Whether choosing the physical or digital option, Tennessee residents can rest assured that their driver’s license information is safe and easy to access.
