Teenagers in Alabama looking to obtain their driver’s license will soon have to pass a new permit test which aims to improve the safety of young drivers on the roads. The Alabama Department of Public Safety (ADPS) has announced that starting next month, all new drivers under the age of 18 will be required to take a comprehensive exam before receiving their learner’s permit.
The new permit test will focus on a wide range of topics related to safe driving, including traffic laws, road signs, defensive driving techniques, and basic vehicle maintenance. The test will be available in both written and digital formats, allowing teenagers to choose the method that best suits their learning style.
“We believe that by implementing this new permit test, we can better prepare young drivers for the challenges they will face on the road,” said John Smith, spokesperson for the ADPS. “It’s important for teenagers to have a solid understanding of the rules of the road and how to navigate various driving situations safely.”
