Indiana Introduces New Class C Driver’s License for Improved Road Safety
In a move to enhance road safety and streamline the licensing process, Indiana has introduced a new Class C driver’s license that will come into effect starting next month. The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) announced the new license category, which is specifically designed for drivers of passenger vehicles such as cars, vans, and small trucks.
The Class C driver’s license aims to differentiate between commercial and non-commercial drivers, providing clearer distinctions for law enforcement officers and ensuring that motorists are adequately trained and qualified to operate specific types of vehicles. Drivers who hold a Class C license will be required to undergo a series of written and practical tests to demonstrate their knowledge and proficiency behind the wheel.
