Coal Township Driver’s License Center Extends Hours to Accommodate Demand

Coal Township, PA – The Coal Township Driver’s License Center has announced extended hours to better serve residents in the area. The center, located at 1538 West Commerce Street, will now be open on weekdays from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.

The decision to extend hours comes as a response to the increasing demand for driver’s license services in the area. With more residents needing to renew their licenses, schedule driving tests, and obtain learner’s permits, the center felt it was necessary to provide more convenient hours for those seeking these services.

“We have seen a significant increase in the number of people coming to our center for driver’s license-related services,” said Karen Jones, the Coal Township Driver’s License Center manager. “By extending our hours, we hope to make it easier for residents to access the services they need without having to take time off work or rearrange their schedules.”

The extended hours will also benefit those who may have difficulty visiting the center during regular business hours due to work or family commitments. With the new hours, residents will have more flexibility in scheduling appointments and completing necessary tasks related to their driver’s licenses.

In addition to the extended hours, the Coal Township Driver’s License Center has also implemented COVID-19 safety measures to ensure the safety of both employees and customers. These measures include mandatory mask-wearing, social distancing protocols, and enhanced cleaning procedures.

“We want our customers to feel safe and comfortable when they visit our center,” said Jones. “We are doing everything we can to provide a clean and safe environment for everyone who walks through our doors.”

The extended hours have already proven to be popular among residents, with many expressing their appreciation for the convenience and flexibility it offers.

“I work full-time and can never make it to the driver’s license center during regular hours,” said Sarah Thompson, a Coal Township resident. “Having the option to come in the evening or on a Saturday makes it so much easier for me to take care of my driver’s license needs.”

The Coal Township Driver’s License Center is one of several centers across the state that has extended its hours to accommodate the growing demand for driver’s license services. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has encouraged all centers to consider extending hours to better serve residents and reduce wait times.

“Providing extended hours is just one way we are working to improve customer service and make it easier for residents to access the services they need,” said a PennDOT spokesperson. “We are committed to finding ways to better serve the public and meet their needs.”

Residents are encouraged to check the Coal Township Driver’s License Center’s website for updated hours and information on services offered. Appointments are recommended for most services, although walk-ins are welcome based on availability.

With the new extended hours in place, the Coal Township Driver’s License Center is poised to better serve residents and meet the increasing demand for driver’s license services in the area. The center remains committed to providing efficient and reliable service to all who walk through its doors, and looks forward to assisting residents with their driver’s license needs.
