Daviess County, KY – In an effort to make the process of renewing driver’s licenses more convenient and efficient for residents, the Daviess County Clerk’s Office has announced new guidelines for driver’s license renewal in the county. These changes aim to streamline the process and reduce wait times for residents seeking to renew their licenses.
Starting this month, residents of Daviess County will now be able to renew their driver’s licenses online through the Daviess County Clerk’s Office website. This new online renewal system will allow residents to fill out the necessary paperwork and pay the renewal fee from the comfort of their own homes, eliminating the need for them to visit the Clerk’s Office in person. This will not only save residents time but also help reduce the amount of foot traffic in the office, making the renewal process quicker for those who do need to come in.
“We are excited to offer this new online renewal option to residents of Daviess County,” said Daviess County Clerk, Jennifer N. Jones. “We understand that renewing a driver’s license can be a time-consuming process, so we wanted to provide a more convenient option for our residents. With this new online system, residents can renew their licenses quickly and easily, without ever having to leave their homes.”
In addition to the new online renewal option, the Daviess County Clerk’s Office has also extended the expiration dates for driver’s licenses in the county. Previously, driver’s licenses in Daviess County expired every four years. Now, licenses will be valid for six years before needing to be renewed. This change is aimed at reducing the frequency of renewal visits for residents, giving them more time between renewals.
“We hope that by extending the expiration dates for driver’s licenses, we can make the renewal process less burdensome for residents,” said Jones. “With licenses now valid for six years, residents will have more time before they need to renew, giving them one less thing to worry about in their busy lives.”
To further assist residents with the renewal process, the Daviess County Clerk’s Office has also expanded its hours of operation. The office will now be open on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm, allowing residents more flexibility in choosing a time to renew their licenses. Additionally, the office will offer extended hours during the week, staying open until 7 pm on select evenings to accommodate residents who may not be able to visit during regular business hours.
“We understand that our residents have busy schedules, and we want to make the renewal process as convenient as possible for them,” said Jones. “By expanding our hours of operation, we hope to provide residents with more options for renewing their licenses, whether they prefer to visit us in person or renew online.”
