Driver License Offices in Flagler and Miami to Reopen Soon
Residents in Flagler and Miami will soon have access to driver license services again as the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) announces plans to reopen select offices in the coming weeks.
The closure of these offices has caused inconvenience for many residents who rely on in-person services for tasks such as obtaining a new license, registering a vehicle, or renewing a license. With the reopening of these offices, residents can expect shorter wait times and improved service options.
In Flagler County, the driver license office located on State Road 100 is set to reopen on April 15th. This office will offer a range of services, including driver license renewals, address changes, and ID card applications. The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with extended hours on Thursdays until 7:00 pm.
“We are excited to announce the reopening of our Flagler County driver license office,” said DHSMV spokesperson, Karen Smith. “We understand the importance of these services to our residents and are committed to providing a safe and efficient experience for all visitors.”

In order to maintain safety protocols, all driver license offices will be following strict guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes requiring facial coverings for all visitors, enforcing social distancing measures, and limiting the number of people allowed in the office at one time.
“We want to assure our residents that we are taking every precaution to ensure their safety while visiting our driver license offices,” said Smith. “We have implemented enhanced cleaning procedures, installed protective barriers, and are following all CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
Residents are encouraged to schedule an appointment online before visiting a driver license office to reduce wait times and ensure a smooth experience. Walk-in appointments will still be accepted, but availability may be limited due to safety protocols.
“We are asking for the cooperation of our residents as we work to reopen our driver license offices in Flagler and Miami,” said Doe. “By scheduling an appointment and following all safety guidelines, we can ensure a safe and efficient experience for everyone.”
