Wisconsin Introduces Enhanced Driver’s License Program
In an effort to enhance security measures and increase efficiency at its Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the state of Wisconsin has introduced a new driver’s license program. The program, known as the Wisconsin Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL), aims to provide residents with a more secure form of identification that can also be used for border crossings and other federal purposes.
The EDL program was officially launched on January 1st of this year, and has since gained popularity among Wisconsin residents seeking to upgrade their standard driver’s licenses. The new EDL incorporates several advanced security features, such as a radio frequency identification (RFID) chip that stores personal information and can be read by scanners at border crossings and other security checkpoints.
