Tennessee Driver License Manual Now Available in Spanish
In an effort to better serve Tennessee’s diverse population, the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has announced the release of the Tennessee Driver License Manual in Spanish. This new resource will provide Spanish-speaking residents with the essential information needed to obtain a driver’s license in the state.
The manual covers topics such as road signs, traffic laws, and safe driving practices. It also includes information on how to apply for a driver’s license, what documents are required, and what to expect during the driving test. By making this information available in Spanish, the state hopes to remove language barriers that may prevent some residents from obtaining a driver’s license.
According to Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner, Jeff Long, “We are committed to ensuring that all residents of Tennessee have access to the information they need to drive safely and legally in our state. By providing the Driver License Manual in Spanish, we are taking a step towards making our roads safer for everyone.”
The release of the Spanish Driver License Manual comes as the state’s Hispanic population continues to grow. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Hispanics make up around 5% of Tennessee’s population, and this number is expected to increase in the coming years. By providing essential driver’s license information in Spanish, the state hopes to empower more residents to obtain their licenses and drive safely on Tennessee’s roads.
In addition to the Driver License Manual, the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security is also offering the written knowledge test in Spanish. This allows Spanish-speaking residents to take the test in their preferred language, further reducing barriers to obtaining a driver’s license.
