Volusia County Driver’s License Update
As technology continues to advance and streamline processes, the Volusia County Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced a new update to the driver’s license system. Starting next month, residents of Volusia County will be able to apply for and renew their driver’s licenses entirely online, eliminating the need for in-person visits to the DMV.

To apply for or renew a driver’s license online, residents will need to create an account on the Volusia County DMV website. Once the application is submitted and processed, residents will receive their new driver’s license in the mail within two weeks.
In addition to the online application process, the Volusia County DMV will also be implementing a new system for scheduling in-person appointments. Residents who prefer to apply for or renew their driver’s license in person can now schedule an appointment online, allowing them to choose a date and time that works best for their schedule.
“We understand that some residents may still prefer to come into the office for their driver’s license needs,” said Johnson. “That’s why we have implemented an online appointment system to make the process as efficient and convenient as possible.”

In an effort to modernize and improve customer service, the DMV has also launched a mobile app for driver’s license renewal reminders, as well as a digital wallet feature for storing electronic copies of driver’s licenses.
“We are continuously looking for ways to enhance the driver’s license process for our residents,” said Johnson. “We want to make it as easy and hassle-free as possible for people to obtain or renew their driver’s licenses, and we believe that these new updates will help us achieve that goal.”
